Repeatedly, we see the convenience of bagged salads, already washed and cut, being recalled for contamination. A company in California that supplies bagged salad for restaurants and food service outlets has expanded an earlier recall because of possible Listeria contamination. No illnesses yet have been reported.

The lesson: even if your pre-made grocery store bagged salad says it’s been washed, wash it yourself at home. It couldn’t hurt.
