You may do a double-take in the soup aisle at the grocery store this week. Campbell’s Soup is releasing a limited edition series of cans dedicated to the famous pop artist Andy Warhol. You may recall he made the Campbell’s Soup can a modern art icon. The soup company is honoring the artist on the 50 year anniversary of the exhibition where Warhol unveiled his can paintings.
The first release of this cans, featuring brightly colored labels and a picture of the artist, will be at Target stores this week. The soup cans will be available for only 75¢, less than the regular price for Campbell’s Soup.
Keep a look out for more art-related packaging in the future.
